There are still a couple of hardcore Goat and Bear hunters that are stomping around in the mountains looking for game. I picked up a goat hunter today with a nice little Billy. The lake off my left wing was totally covered with a 1/4 inch layer of ice and the peaks surrounding us were entirely white. The cold air makes the cub perform even better than normal and on a beautiful late fall day like today, it was pure joy to be airborne. The winds were dead calm and the air was warm as long as you were in the sun. I would guess that weekends like this will soon be a distant memory as wind, darkness, and frozen ground moves closer with every passing minute. I love Alaska, and it’s extreme changing of the seasons.
