We did not make it up to Bachelor skiing yesterday because the mountain had a “storm in progress”. So, we headed up there this morning, even though the outlook was poor. I’m a tough Alaskan and a little bit of precip and wind can’t phase me. Well … we made 4 runs and then ran to the day lodge with our tail tucked between our legs. The “tough Alaskan” in me decided that a hot cup of coffee and a slice of pizza was sounding pretty nice. The snow was great, but the visibility was 50 feet in blowing snow and fog with goggles off, and 2 inches with goggles on because the lenses would ice up from falling sleet as fast as you could wipe them clean. Gar, Jan and I had a great time with lots of laughs, but the weather was truly HORRENDOUS and getting worse. This photo is a simple reminder to all of those in the heart of winter … Summer exists somewhere :o)
