I was headed home on a late Summer’s night and this was the view looking South. This photo shows Mt. Marcus Baker from the North side. I remember the cloud deck below was building fast and giving me something to worry about. I had already climbed to nearly 9000′ and I was not too interested in going higher. It ended up being no problem because the clouds broke wide open as I neared the house. This photo was taken on July 31st … the snow above 7500′ in the Chugach pretty much never goes away unless it’s vertical rock or ice. This is another one of those nights I wish I could have stuck in my pocket … but all I’ve got is this photo and the memory.
