We started hauling hunters into the Chugach and Talkeetna Mountains yesterday. We are currently on schedule but it has not been without a fight. We are wrestling with a low pressure in Prince William Sound. This causes the winds in the Chugach mountains to be fickle at best and violent at worst. We have had to do a bit of shuttling from longer strips in order to compensate for sub-par conditions. Strong Wind in the mountains is no surprise for hunting season, but the summer has been so nice it may have caught us a little off guard. We are seeing lots of game and the clients that we have put in the field are currently soaking in sunny skies … it’s just a bit breezy. Tomorrow is another day (with a worse forecast) but who cares … what’s life without a bit of a challenge? … I love August.
