I like the looks of this photo much more than yesterday’s picture. The clouds, wind, and rain can get old if it’s too persistent. Like today for instance, the wind is still 30 mph gusting 50 and my house is shaking from the wind slamming into it. This is day number 6 of windy nastiness, and it’s getting pretty old. On the other hand we lived in Hawaii for a Winter while I flew tours around the volcano. I love Hawaii almost as much as Alaska, but sunny weather is nearly as exhausting as cloudy weather in my estimation. Most people disagree with me on this point but I can’t help it. I grew up in Alaska where the weather is continuously changing. The weather is not continuously changing in Kona. In fact, if you replaced the above mountains with beautiful ocean, sand, and lava rock it would like Kona nearly everyday. Blue sky and sun make me happy but I gotta have my cloudy, rainy, nasty, windy, freezing days to make me really appreciate the blue bird ones…. but today I would happily take Hawaii.
