Oh for summer again … we are ending our 7th straight day of 30-50 mph wind with air temperatures reading between 10 and 25 degrees. I can’t wait for our Alaskan Summer mornings when the plane is wet with dew, and the air is still. These Alaskan Winter mornings of ground shaking winds and canceled flights will be a thing of the past. Nothing beats an early morning flight in the mountains. The air is still, and the plane is as true as if I were flying on solid rails. The only bumps are felt when you circle to take a picture and hit wake turbulence created by your own wings. This was taken at 0630 in the morning as I was prepping for an early morning delivery to the gold mine.
