36 reindeer dogs, 3 whole Alaskan Salmon and a gallon of ice cream is a mere snack after 12 days of mountaineering in the Chugach Mountains. We had a great time with this team and they are camped out on our runway for the evening. Ali even got in on the action, and you can see her sacked out in her car seat on the picnic table. We hauled these guys off the glacier today and we were thankful for the weather window to get them home. It has been getting progressively worse this evening and the ceiling right now is only 100 feet off the ground. We will likely be fogged in tomorrow morning, but we are hopeful that it will lift as we have a long list of hunters in the books for tomorrow.
The video shows one take off and landing on the ice from today. You can see it’s a little bumpy.
