Photo of the Day — Snohunskishoeing

On Monday Jan 18th (MLK Day) myself, and several of my friends went snohunskishoeing which involves skiing, snowshoeing, and rabbit hunting.  We climbed the mountain directly behind our house at Sheep Mt.  So, all of these images were taken within one mile of where we live May-Sept of each year.  It was cold enough to make us question our sanity, but beautiful enough to remind us of why we tough-out Alaskan winters.  These pictures show the vast beauty which surrounds the location of Blue Ice Aviation’s home base.  The day was a great success as we enjoyed perfect conditions, good friends, six rabbits, and a bacon cheeseburger at Long Rifle Lodge to top it off.
I am going to post several more pictures later tonight that some of you may be interested in.  My brother headed for Haiti at 0930 this morning, flying a helicopter that will be used in relief work in Port-Au-Prince.
