Photo of the Day — Upper Lake George

This is a photo of Upper Lake George just 15 minutes out of Palmer. The Knik Glacier is on the left side of the screen and the Chugach Mountains loom in the background. Lake George is an incredible body of water floating thousands of tons of ice and bordered on the South side by vertical rock and ice. I often call this area Anchorage’s playground because there are more places to land a Super Cub down there than you can shake a stick at. It’s almost scary to fly up here during the month of September because of all the air traffic. It is an amazingly beautiful area to fly in, and if you ever get the chance you should take it.

Have a very Merry Christmas. I will take the next couple of days off.
