This is the Toe of the Matanuska Glacier. It sits just 1.5 mile from the Glenn Hwy, and this view can be enjoyed as you drive by. I really enjoy flying clients out onto the ice with the Cub. If you are more comfortable on a concrete sidewalk than you are in the woods I really hope you get an opportunity to experience this wilderness. The silence is so deep that it makes your ears ring, and the air is so fresh you can almost taste it. I lived in downtown Chicago for two years, so I know what it’s like to forget that places like this exist. I think it’s time for you to come to Alaska.
