This morning we got a late start, but were still airborne by 1030. We have already gained more than an hour of daylight since Winter solstice. It is still hard to get an early start because by the time it’s light enough to check webcams the morning is nearly half done. I shot this picture climbing through 9000′. I was headed South for the Columbia Glacier and the weather was awesome. Well … It was sort of awesome, we actually were not able to finish our work because of low lying clouds. There was a stubborn cloud layer at 6500′ that stuck around most of the day. Below me in this photo is the Knik Glacier with Upper Lake George.
