This was a perfect day (except for the smoke) to hang out on the glacier and take pictures. I have hundreds from this day alone. We spent the entire day flying over the Chugach and Talkeetna mts. We landed occasionally to take pictures and go on short hikes. Great memories. These were two clients from Ohio.
This is looking down the throat of a medium sized Moulin. It was probably only 150′ deep.
These glacial streams run all over the surface of the glacier and contain some of the finest drinking water I have ever tasted. Look out for brain freezes. You can see in the video below that I actually land right in the middle one of these small streams. It is always a chore to find a spot that is smooth enough for landing and long enough for takeoff. The water will sometimes help smooth things out, but I have hit puddles a little deeper than I expected and it is a surprise.
