Photos of the Day — Two More Chugach Sheep and Setting Up Moose Camp

We’ve taken a couple more Dall Sheep out of the Chugach range recently.  The first animal was taken on an “any ram” permit, and the second animal is a 40 incher taken on a permit for a “full curl ram”.  All four of these hunters were put into the Chugach Mountains during the early part of this week, and we pulled them today.  Both hunting parties held a permit for one shooter.  You can apply for a party hunt (two permits) but some people believe it lessens your chances for being drawn.

The last photo shows our annual moose hunting camp for clients.  I dropped off a load of firewood this morning and there were legal bulls within shooting distance of the strip.  In another couple of days this place will be bustling with horses, hunters, and packers.  We have an awesome experience here every year, and all of our clients are return customers.  For more info contact Meekin’s Air Service.
