Photos of the Day — Spring Time in Alaska … It’s Coming, I Can Feel It

I flew back home today because the job down on the coast is done, and I took these pics along the way. The weather has been unbelievable the last couple of days, and we are all beginning to remember why we live in Alaska. Sometimes, during the winter, it is difficult to appreciate what it is that keeps us here. Then along comes a stretch of weather like this, and a faint memory of “The Alaskan Summer” begins to stir deep inside us and we get giddy with anticipation of the season to come. Long Alaskan summer days are something that everybody should experience at some point before they die. Already the long days are making themselves known with an orange sun still visible until 8:05, tomorrow it will be 8:08. A month from now 9:30 will find us still outside working like dogs under a setting sun. Bring it on sleepless summer, I’m ready.
