Photos of the Day — A Saturday Morning Drive in the Cubs

I love showing people around in my back yard, so when this couple called and wanted a tour, I was happy to see that we had room in the schedule . Gar and I took them on a flight through both the Chugach and Talkeetna mountains, and we were fortunate enough to have decent weather. It’s been a bit windy lately, so we did find a couple of bumps out there, but the glacier country, wild flowers, and the 10,000+ caribou made it all worth it.

We spent about 4 hours out cruising around which included a couple of landings and short hikes. We intended to land and pick up a naturally shed moose antler for them to bring home, but adverse conditions prevailed so I gave them an antler from my personal stash instead.  It’s always great to spend time with clients like these folks who are simply excited to get out and see some Alaskan wilderness. Hopefully tomorrow the winds will die down a bit because we have 8 more backpackers waiting in line to get delivered into the outback.
