I was out with my friends Gar and Jan enjoying an excellent afternoon of flight. They were in Lulu (the yello cub) and I was in my Cessna 185. We landed on a couple of gravel bars, and then shot some landings, and then destroyed a coleman fuel can with Gar’s .375 H&H Magnum. We flew over to another Glacier about 20 miles away, and the wind increased from calm to a steady 30 mph breeze. Nothing makes you look like a hero in an airplane like a nice 30 mph wind allowing the hover approach. Even the 185 becomes awfully cub-ish with 30 on the nose. It was a great time.
