I am currently on a flying job down on the coast. I woke up this morning excited about my continental breakfast of rubbery eggs, bad coffee, and styrofoam cereal bowls. When I stumbled out the door and headed for the lounge I noticed that it was snowing and misty. I took my time eating breakfast because it was obvious that we were not going anywhere anytime soon. I eventually checked weather on the NOAA site, and they forecasted it to get better in approximately two hours. The forecast turned out to be optimistic as they revised it no less than four times by 2pm. We did eventually get airborne at 3 in the afternoon, but were back on the ground with our tail between our legs by 3:30.
I took this shot on the way home just minutes before landing. Call me a pansy, but there is just something about wet snow squalls, wind, and very low visibilty that makes hanging out in a stuffy hotel room not sound so bad.
