This is a photo from several years ago, but I still appreciate seeing the two cubs stacked on top of each other. In fact, some of you might recognize this photo out of the Blue Ice Aviation calendar in 2010. Mike is landing, while I am waiting on the end of the airstrip. This is a pretty large strip so it is no problem to have a cub parked on the end, but we usually try to stagger our landings so we don’t have to share the runway with the other guy. The problem is that the airplane that lands first is usually hogging the turn-around area on the end of the strip. So we end up turning the second plane around by hand, lifting the tail over bushes and ditches and … well, we’re pilots, we like to whine about stuff like that. You can see sitting by the tire of my cub is a very nice ram, we were shuttling sheep hunters and freight to this larger airstrip for the trip home.
