I spent 8 hours flying around the Talkeetna Mountains today and I’ve never seen better weather for cruising around the peaks. It was 25 degrees, the sky was cloudless, and the winds were calm. I took this picture of Mt. McKinley (Denali) with a Talkeetna Mountains spire in the foreground. The snow-cover in the Talkeetna mountains is thin in comparison to average years. Western Alaska got dumped with snow yesterday, but we are still waiting our turn in South-Central.
