Photo of the Day — Blanket in the Valley

This was taken late at night as I was headed home. It’s a common view to see this fog rolling up the Matanuska drainage as the evening air cools down. The problem is that the fog tends to settle at about the same elevation as our airstrip, so it’s often a race. Fortunately we have other options nearby for landing so we generally have a place to run if it gets too ugly. We don’t push the bad weather much, too many granite clouds out there.
