Mr. D was my Algebra teacher in 9th grade. We had not been skiing together since 1996 when we climbed up Gunsight Mountain near Eureka. Mr. D is always up for an adventure so it was fun to call him late one night last spring (9:15 PM) and wake him up to see if he wanted to play the next day. This picture was taken last April, and we are already gearing up for a much bigger ski season with the Super Cub for the Spring of 2010. This is a killer spot with over 5000′ vertical from the drop-off point. I landed just above the 5000′ mark on a glacier in order to access this run. I will have more info on Blue Ice Aviation’s ski camp as the winter progresses. Below is a video that we made during this afternoon of skiing, it was an awesome day.
