Several years ago an aviation enthusiast named Rich Hulina and his wife Shannon showed up at Meekin’s Air Service to take a few photos of airplanes. We had a small gap in the schedule so I took him out for a bit of ride in the Super Cub. We had a great time talking airplanes, and he took a bunch of pictures, paid for the flight, and then departed. Several weeks later a package arrived on my doorstep with a dozen incredible photos from our flight. I was blown away by his generosity and the quality of the photos. It was then that I learned from RichHulina.com that Rich is a well known photographer who has won several awards for his work during his 25 years of aviation photography. Not to mention he is the owner, president, and operations manager of Slate Falls Airways in Sioux Lookout in Ontario Canada.
Rich makes a living servicing the bush communities of Canada with his Cessna 206’s, Beaver, Otter, and Caravan. We’ve stayed in touch over the past several years, but it was a real surprise when Rich sent me his new 168 page, beautifully edited, full color, hard back book showing the sexiest bushplanes on the planet hard at work in their element.
