This photo was taken on the ramp in Koliganek. I had just taken on some fuel with a hand pump out of a 55 gallon drum. This a-star was sling-loading a drill rig from the ramp over to a barge on the Nushagak river. Numerous trips were made while I was re-fueling and I’ve got to admit I was pretty jealous watching that huge turbine ship hanging motionless in the air overhead. My Super Cub flies slow and everything, but to be able to stop and hover is something I can only do in extreme winds. I always make myself feel better by remembering that I can almost afford to fly my aircraft just for fun, and that a-star was probably operating at something like $2000 per hour. Yep, I feel better now.
Today we recieved a fresh shipment of t-shirts and hoodies from the printers so everything should be fully in-stock. I think I owe a couple of folks XL t-shirts and we will get those in the mail immediately. Lots more calendars will be arriving in a few days so I hope you keep buying them or the walls of my hangar and cabin will be plastered with them for the next 12 months :o)
