Photo of the Day — The Low Pressure Trough = Rainbows

This photo was taken this week in the Chugach mountains near Klutina Lake. The dominant weather pattern in play this Summer has been “the low pressure trough”. A low pressure trough in the mountains generally means every/anything is to be expected. Sun, rain, clouds, thunder, fog, wind are all results of the unstable air. To be honest, it’s a rather miserable weather pattern to deal with because the forecast is pretty much a joke. The up-side is that we see lots of rainbows.
