I landed here along the water to pick up a bear hunter. It was an awesome spot and I would have loved to pitch a tent for about a week. Beach landings can be difficult to find because they are generally narrow, side-sloped, and difficult to read . Boulders are often half buried in the sand, and are easily overlooked when dragging the strips before landing. The water level is always fluctuating leaving muddy areas that fling rocks into my propeller. The up-side of beach landings is that they usually allow for an easy go-around, and the winds are often favorable, predictable, and steady. Not to mention the uniqueness of jumping out of the cub and skipping rocks until my arm falls off.
Sale ends tomorrow (Monday, Dec 6th) on all Blue Ice Aviation swag.
