The weather has been poor the last couple of weeks. In fact, that is an understatement … the weather has been horrible. There are areas of the Talkeetna Mts that have not been released from the fog for more than a week. This team of hearty backpackers was definitely excited to see us when we landed on their airstrip this morning. We had groceries on-board and even a little ice cream as a special treat. It’s amazing the impact a little bit of ice cream can have on somebody who has been on the trail for 3 weeks. They can make a gallon of Breyers disappear with or without the use of spoons and bowls. These are some hardcore kids and they have accomplished an impressive task by walking through the Talkeetna Mts. during the soggy Summer of 2010.
