Photos of the Day — A Few Randoms From This Summer

It never gets dull exploring the surface of the glacier.  There are streams running on the surface of the ice, crevasses, cracks, rocks, and sometimes you can even hear the ice groaning as it moves slowly downhill.  The best part about doing it from the Cub is that, about the time your feet are getting cold, we crawl back in the plane and head for warmer ground and a bacon cheesburger.

I don’t know where I was or what I was doing when I took this picture … but I took it this Spring after a light dusting of snow and I thought it was a nice picture.  It definetly puts me back in the cockpit because it’s a very standard view for anybody who flies around these parts.

We landed up here to go for a short hike.  I think you could land a cessna 150 on this portion because it was so stinkin’ smooth….of course it may be a tad short for departure.
