I just got home from a few more days away from the computer. There is a low pressure trough (weather system) that has been laying over top of our area which generally means bad weather. It is impossible to forecast with any degree of accuracy and consistency what the weather will be like in the mountains when this weather pattern is present. The conditions pictured above are approximately 10 times nicer than we were expecting and we were thankful to have it. The temperatures were mild, the winds were manageable … for the most part, and the visibility was excellent. I took this picture on Tuesday afternoon. The weather slowly crept back in after this image was taken, and by the time I woke up this morning we were back to 500 foot overcast, 3 miles visibility, and light snow. We actually did not get airborne until afternoon today, but I’m not complaining because we got some good work done.
