-0008? Wow...
Having once owned a share in a 182 with a 520 conversion, I really enjoyed the ability to haul 300lbs. and 2 adults in and out of short strips in the middle of nowhere. The 16-17gph fuel flows...not so much. Found over time that the thing to do was to get it up high, and bring the prop back to 2100rpm or so, then I could get it down to 10-11gph (and cruise all day). Now if it only had the little wheel at the other end!

Keep us updated on the house some (once you get time to work on it).

Ya' Steve it still has the IO-470. Not quite the snort of the 520 but I was cruising at 155-160 mph yesterday drinking 13.5 gph. The serial number is 185-0008 and it only weighs 500 more pounds than my cub. Pretty fun.

Nice catch there, Matt. Does it still have the original IO-470, or has it been bumped to a -520?

Congratulation, I am looking foward to your reports from next year on how the 185 works in your conditions. I have a husky on bushwheels and enjoy it a lot. I too have always thought I would like a 185 someday for the longer cross country or heavy load flights. Its a great workhorse.
But of course to do that I would have to win the lottery, discover gold, find a rich woman, etc. ---- Just kidding--- enjoy your pictures everyday. It is a daily highlight for me----keep up the good work.
